This work is part of a private exhibition

To me this piece feels cold, lonely and harsh, the lack of people cause me to feel a sense of unease and the grey tones invoke a feeling of hopelessness. The tunnel under the bridge is the focal point of the piece, however when looking at it the darkness invokes a feeling of mystery and intimidation, the tree seen in the back ground adds something natural to the piece and seems to be a breath of fresh air as it gives the viewer a break from the harsh concrete, man made structures. Overall, to me this piece seems melancholy and bleak, it doesn’t bring me a sense of comfort. The use of a monochrome colour scheme make the piece seem monotonous, like the residents are living theirs lives but living the same day over and over, it is a striking piece that draws you in and makes you feel.
