when looking at this Cyanotype I am instantly hit with a feeling of nostalgia, I think that the blue and white tones throughout the piece create an old, retro look and invoke an authentic atmosphere. To me, the rolling hills and still lake create a peaceful and clam feeling. I believe that this allows the viewer to feel a sense of serenity when looking at this image, it is a place that you would want to relax and let go. I really love the way that light and reflection has been portrayed within this piece, the water seems as if it is glowing and the sky is a pure, bright white that provides a stark contrast to the grainy blue tones. 

When looking at this image I am reminded of childhood fairy tales and magic, I think that this piece has mystical and mysterious atmosphere, as if we are looking into a fairies grotto. I believe that the portrayal of light and shadows within this work are really affective, the lighter section capture and highlight the smaller details of the image allowing them to stand out against the darker background. I think that the shadows add to the mystical feel of the work and also create a sense of mystery and curiosity, as if something is hiding in the shrubbery waiting to reveal themselves.
