FMP: Project proposal

We are now moving onto the final major project of the year which will last 16 weeks, and we will exhibit the final piece at the end of year show.

While thinking about this project my initial thoughts are that I want this project to be photography based. I have worked with different photography processes in the past and I found the to be versatile and interesting and I enjoyed doing them, in particular Cyanotypes, and I hope to experiment with a multitude of photography processes and expand my skill set. I want to work with different materials such as fabrics like calico as opposed to only paper as I believe that this will allow me more freedom in how I install and present the final outcome, for instance, creating a stretched canvas to display a cyanotype or screen print.

When thinking about the initial themes I want my FMP to be personal and represent the healing journey that I have had to go on in terms of my physical health, the recovery and the freedom and that I now have because of this. I wanted to show this through photography and documenting my hikes, walks and different activities that I am now able to do. I want this piece to be about resilience, healing and to show that there is always a way through.

In terms of a time plan, I will most likely be in college Monday through Thursday arriving at 10:30 and leaving at 3:30. And I will likely be able to give 3 or 4 hours to my written work on Saturday and Sunday.

When thinking about possible materials that I may need for this project cyanotype mixture, paper, photographic paper and film are some of the basics that I will be the most likely to use. Other possible materials include wood, calico and other natural materials such as leaves.
