Contemporary: Daniel Lind Ramos - Ensamblajes:

This exhibition took place one spaces with four large sculptures. these sculptures were made out of fabric and items such as sandbags, chairs and shovels. Each piece was nicely spaced out from each other which I think allowed the work to be shown fully while still keeping the overall space light and roomy, allowing for the viewer to walk freely. The space that was chosen for this exhibition was Gallery 3 and 4, this space is light, bright with many windows and I believe that this helped to elevate the work and allow the viewer to see every detail.

My favourite piece is the sculpture of a group of humanoid figures named 'Centinelas de la nueva',  when looking at this piece I notice that all of the figures are facing outwards, one with a hand shielding a smaller figure as if they are protecting it from the viewer. I think that although the figures have no real human features, the way they are staring out at the viewer creates a haunting and heavy atmosphere whiten the piece. As if they can see right through the viewer and reading the heart and soul. I believe that the brown and beige tones that have been used create a natural, earthy look for the sculpture and I think that it allows the piece to be grounded and showcases a connection to nature. I think that the accents of bright blue provide a good contrast and allow the overall composition to be eye-catching. I believe that there is something motherly and nurturing about this piece, the way the taller figures are gathered round the smaller one make sit seem as if they have taken in a young child or ward and are raising them as their own.

Overall, I think that this was a very peaceful and calm exhibition. Each sculpture held its own without taking away from the other and I believe that each work was intricate and though provoking.
