'The Backrooms':

'The Backrooms' is a popular internet horror concept about an alternate universe of endless liminal, surreal spaces. within this concept there is the idea that that you can get here randomly and accidentally which only add to the horror and unease of this concept. 

During the beginning of my project and thinking about the theme I was immediately reminded of this 'Backrooms concept' the images are surreal and eerie. The mundane yellow is uncomfortable to look and and clash with the fluorescent, beaming lights above, the room has depth and even though only part of it is visible it seems as if it goes on forever. There is such a melancholy and lonely feeling that is created the looking at this image, and this is exactly the atmosphere that I want to create within my own work during this project.
